Why is Physiotherapy at Home More Expensive Than in a Clinic?
Unfortunately, we are not able to compete with clinic-based physiotherapy costs. This is because a clinic can see many more clients in a morning and afternoon than we can, often scheduling back-to-back appointments every 30-45 minutes. When working in the community, we cannot do this due to the travel times between visits and the more holistic nature of a home-based assessment. By the time we account for travel, the assessment, preparing the exercises, and writing up notes, we may only see one or two people (compared to the 8-10 people a clinic physiotherapist can see). For these reasons, our visit costs are generally higher than those at clinics.
